Gallbladder Surgery
The gallbladder is a storage vessel, storing bile for when the body needs to use this. Unfortunately for many people they develop small stones, of varying consistencies, which can cause pain and suffering.
Gallstones can lead to biliary colic (an intense, dull, discomfort, in the upper abdomen or upper right hand side, that can radiate elsewhere, and can be associated with nausea and vomiting), cholecystitis (gallbladder inflammation that can lead to worsening pain and fever), pancreatitis (pancreas inflammation due to a gallstone obstructing the flow out of the pancreas) and cholangitis (worsening pain, fever, and jaundice), amongst other conditions.
Mr Mishreki offers minimally invasive surgery to remove the gallbladder. He is very experienced with this, carrying this out on a regular basis in both the NHS and private practice.
Once the relevant pre-operative investigations have been performed, Mr Mishreki will counsel you on what is involved with minimally invasive surgery to remove your gallbladder. This procedure is known as a laparoscopic (keyhole) cholecystectomy (removal of gallbladder).
