Anal Fissure

Anal fissure's involve a tear towards the end of the anal canal. They are one of the most common benign ano-rectal conditions and one of the most common causes of anal pain and bleeding. The associated muscle spasm and pain lead to an inhibition of the blood flow to allow the natural healing process to take place effectively.

Symptoms typically include significant pain during bowel movements that can last for a period of time afterwards, pain upon prolonged sitting, the passing of bright red blood, and are sometimes associated with a small lump or skin tag adjacent to the site of the pain.

Mr Mishreki will assess you and discuss the various medical and surgical treatment options available.
